Las Vegas Convention Calendar, and How to Book the Week Well

Las Vegas hosts more major trade shows than any city in the country, and the difference between a productive week and an exhausting one is usually decided before the flight: which venue, which hotel, and whether anyone thought about dinner. This is the rolling eighteen-month calendar, from the shows still to come this year through CES in January 2028, followed by the practical part.

Still to Come in 2026

Dates are as published by each show’s organizer as of September 2026. Organizers move dates, and shows further out have not all announced; those are marked. Confirm on the official show site before booking anything non-refundable.

2027

Into 2028

Not in Las Vegas in 2027: the NADA Show is in Orlando that year, and ConExpo-Con/Agg runs on a three-year cycle with no 2027 edition. Sources are each organizer’s own site, checked September 2026.

Pick the Hotel by the Venue, Not the Brand

Las Vegas has three major convention campuses and they are miles apart. The right hotel is the one you can walk from.

Las Vegas Convention Center

Fontainebleau is the one luxury property genuinely across the street: its tower faces the West Hall entrance, and it is the shortest walk on the Strip to a convention door. Resorts World sits at the north end of the campus with the underground Loop connecting it. The Westgate is attached. Wynn and Encore are two to three blocks south, depending on which hall you need, which is a comfortable walk in January and a rideshare in August. The monorail from the central Strip stops at the LVCC and is the practical answer for anyone staying at Caesars, Flamingo, or the MGM end. The campus itself is bigger than people expect: the West Hall, the Central Hall, and the South Hall are three separate buildings, and the walk from one end to the other is the better part of a mile.

Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum

Stay at the Venetian or Palazzo and you never go outside. Wynn is a ten-minute walk. Caesars Forum sits behind the LINQ and Harrah’s, connected by a pedestrian bridge from the Venetian side.

Mandalay Bay Convention Center

Mandalay Bay, Delano, and the Four Seasons are on the campus; Luxor is connected by tram and walkway. Anything else is a rideshare, and the south Strip queues during Black Hat and IMEX are legendary.

Getting to the Convention Center Without a Car

During a big show the rideshare lots at the LVCC back up for an hour at the open and the close, and a taxi from the central Strip can take longer than the ride is worth. Two things run above and below the traffic, and I use both.

The Las Vegas Monorail

The monorail runs along the east side of the Strip from the MGM Grand to the Sahara, and its convention center station sits on Paradise Road between the Central Hall and the South Hall. From the platform, follow the signs for the elevator, escalator, or stairs down to the elevated walkway, which brings you out at the campus map and points you toward the South Hall; the Central Hall is a few minutes further north along the same frontage. Tickets are sold at the kiosks by the station entrance and in the monorail’s app, and a day pass is the right buy for anyone making the trip more than once. The train covers the whole line in about fifteen minutes and runs every few minutes during shows, which is what makes it the honest answer for the Caesars, Flamingo, LINQ, and MGM end of the Strip. Hours vary by day and stretch later during major shows, so check the schedule the week you travel.

The Vegas Loop

The Loop is the underground Tesla system, and on the convention campus it does one job well: it moves you between the West Hall, the Central Hall, and the South Hall in a couple of minutes instead of a long walk in the heat. The Central Hall station is the arched portal in front of the building. Rides within the campus are free during shows, and the stations at Resorts World, the Westgate, and Encore connect to the same tunnels, which is why a room at any of those three is a real convenience during CES or SEMA rather than a marketing line. The Loop runs on show days and hours, not around the clock, so it is a tool for the convention itself rather than for getting back from dinner.

What Actually Goes Wrong During Convention Week

• Dinner. Every restaurant within a mile of the venue is booked by exhibitors weeks out. It is the thing that is hardest to fix on the day, so it belongs in the plan when the rooms do.
• The off day. Shows that span a weekend leave a free Saturday. A tee time at a course twenty minutes from the Strip, or a spa afternoon at one of the properties I actually use, turns that day into the best part of the trip.
• Room category. Convention-week inventory is thin, and the room you are given is not always the room you booked. Knowing which towers and floors to ask for matters.
• Getting between venues. A meeting at the Venetian Expo and a session at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in the same afternoon is not a walk. Plan it with the Loop, the monorail (see above), and honest rideshare timing.
• The last night. The show floor closes and the group wants somewhere that is not the hotel bar. That is the reservation to make first, not last.
