CES is the largest week of the Las Vegas year and the one where the planning calendar runs earliest. The show is January 6 through 9, 2027, spread across the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian Expo, with media days and keynotes in the days before. Rooms near either campus at reasonable rates are gone by late fall. This page is the week as I plan it for clients, in the order the decisions actually have to be made.
| When | Decide | Why then |
|---|---|---|
| September – October 2026 | Which campus your meetings are on; hold a refundable room near it | Organizer blocks and refundable rates near the halls thin out through the fall. |
| November 2026 | Dinners for every night, the off-hours plan, ground logistics between campuses | Restaurants within a mile of either campus are booked by exhibitors by early December. |
| December 2026 | Confirm room category, tower and floor; confirm the confirmations list | Convention-week inventory is thin and the room you are given is not always the room you booked. |
| The week before | Badge pickup plan, Loop and monorail hours for your dates, the last-night reservation | Operators publish show-week hours late; the last night is the reservation everyone forgets. |
CES splits its floor. The Las Vegas Convention Center carries the largest halls, including the West Hall; the Venetian Expo carries a large share of the rest, and keynotes and press events use the Strip resorts. A hotel that is across the street from one campus is a real commute from the other, so the first question is where your meetings and your booth are, and the second is how often you have to cross town.
Fontainebleau faces the West Hall across the street and is the shortest walk on the Strip to a convention door. The Westgate is attached to the campus. Resorts World is at the north end with a Loop station underneath it. Wynn and Encore are two to three blocks south and, in January, a comfortable walk. From the central Strip the monorail runs to the Paradise Road station between the Central and South Halls and is the honest answer for the Caesars, Flamingo, LINQ and MGM Grand end.
Stay at the Venetian or Palazzo and you never go outside. Wynn and Encore are a ten-minute walk and also serve the LVCC by Loop, which makes them the compromise hotels for anyone split between campuses.
The Loop moves you between the West, Central and South Halls in minutes and connects Resorts World, the Westgate and Encore to the same tunnels; it runs on show days and hours, not around the clock. The monorail runs the east side of the Strip from the MGM Grand to the Sahara and stops at the convention center. Rideshare lots at the LVCC back up for an hour at the open and the close during CES. A meeting at the Venetian Expo after a morning in the West Hall is a planned trip, not an improvised one. The full transit notes, with photographs of the stations, are on the convention calendar page.
Send the halls you will be in, who is travelling, what the week has to include, and the budget. Within one business day you get a written scope and the fee. Once you accept it, you receive a day-by-day itinerary with the venue-to-hotel logic spelled out, a confirmations list naming the property, the room category and the request wording, and one phone number for the week. You book each provider directly and every reservation stays in your name. The hotels-by-venue guide is the background reading; the ten courses worth a trip and the spas I have used are the off-hours.
They do not, in any predictable way. Organizer blocks release unsold rooms in the weeks before the show, which can produce a good room near a hall at short notice, but counting on it is how people end up commuting. Hold something refundable early.
Within a paid engagement I plan the week and coordinate the confirmations with you; you book and pay each provider directly and keep every reservation under your control. Flights and ground transportation are yours to arrange.
January 6–9, 2027 are the Consumer Technology Association’s published dates as of September 2026. The official CES site is the final word; confirm there before booking anything non-refundable.
Which halls, how many people, and what the week needs to include. I’ll come back with a plan and a plain fee quote.
I read and reply to every message myself, within one business day. Prefer plain email? show email address (new inquiries get a faster reply through the form).
